Xbox LIVE To Offer (Better) Rewards For Your Achievements

I say “better” because it happened about a year ago with arcade games on Xbox LIVE. Certain games you played gave you an avatar award if you got a certain achievement. Halo: Reach even sported some avatar awards.

The system seemed pretty cool; you got rewarded for playing your game, but did it really have to be limited to avatar stuff? That question might be answered soon according to a tweet on Xbox LIVE Reward’s twitter account:

We’ve hit 50,000 followers, which means it’s time for an announcement! Coming Fall: a new way to earn Rewards based on your Achievements!

The Xbox LIVE Rewards service is a free service that users can sign up for that can gain them some extra Microsoft points from doing things like completing surveys, making marketplace purchases, renewing Xbox LIVE, etc…

It’s a great way to make some extra cash but the logical next step would be to cash in some Achievement points for rewards like MS points, right?

The tweet bursts with possibility as to what could actually end up happening. We’ll keep you updated here at Velocity Gamer when we find out what’s going down!
