What Are You Looking Forward To In Gaming This Year?

Yes, we’re a month into the new year, but it’s no secret that 2012 has been scheduled to be a big year for the gaming sector of the world – we still have big things ahead of us, near and far. We have the much-awaited PS Vita (with a very juicy launch line-up) blooming into Europe and North America in just a couple of weeks, as well as the hyped Wii U expected some time between E3 in June and the end of 2012. We’ve also been promised a range of new brilliant titles from new and existing franchises on the almost year-old 3DS to indulge our gaming taste buds in – Paper Mario, Animal Crossing, Kid Icarus, Monster Hunter and Kingdom Hearts to name a few.

It would also be very naive of me to forget the big gaming gatherings coming to announce new and big things this year, mainly E3 to be specific. It’s been said from a very credible source, namely MCV, that Microsoft and Sony are getting ready to unveil or at least announce their new 8th gen. home consoles at this E3 in June, though we’re all taking this with a pinch of salt, especially seeing as Sony has just denied having any console to reveal as of now, in line with their well-known ’10-year plan’ for their consoles. Many still believe that we’re going to be surprised though, so let’s keep our ears to the floor for now…

Personally, I’m most looking forward to seeing more of what the Wii U offers. I believe it’s a brilliant piece of gaming technology to add to the home, and I’d love to lay my hands on it for a brief experience. I’m greatly anticipating seeing more of what’s in store for us regarding the console – that is, its final form and what games are coming to hit us from behind.
