Wasteland 2, the Kickstarter-darling sequel to 1988′s Wasteland, has released its first screenshot from development!
The Unity-developed game is already looking pretty beautiful, though we’re to understand that particle effects and post-processing have yet to be added in. Koy Vanoteghem, senior environment artist at inXile Entertainment, says that Wasteland 2 is taking cues from modern post-apocalyptic environments, where nature has moved in to retake civilized areas.
He also brings up the use of pre-made assets built for the Unity engine in the game’s development. Vanoteghem stresses that things like character design will be critical in-house items, though, which relieves me entirely. We can’t have them getting lazy on our giant, metal Scorpitrons!
