Valentine’s Day Nintendo Direct Info-Dump

Hey, lovers, I know you’d rather be in bed right now, playing your Nintendo 3DS, but you should get up for a bit and read about the great games being released on Nintendo 3DS and Wii U platforms this year.

• Iwata comes out with a Luigi hat on. Starts talking about Luigi’s history. “THE YEAR OF LUIGI”, since we’re getting plenty of Luigi games.

LUIGI’S MANSION NOTES:

• Miyamoto’s showing up for the first time in a Nintendo Direct to talk Luigi’s Mansion. WHAT, WE NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU?
• Dark Moon footage shown. The game is based around depth, puzzles, and clever uses of the Plotergust.
• Miyamoto tells you not to suck up too much stuff with a real vacuum. It’s official, he thinks we’re idiots.
• “I hope you can immerse yourself as Luigi,” he says. Ohohoh, too late buddy.
• Luigi’s Mansion has multiplayer, with local and online play. You work together to climb a tower and discover treasure.
• Luigi’s Mansion will come out March 24th in the US and March 28th in the UK.

MARIO AND LUIGI:

• A new Mario and Luigi RPG! 
• Luigi’s dreams are the main area that Mario battles in.
• Title is “Mario and Luigi: Dream Team”.
• Arriving this Summer.

MARIO GOLF:

• Luigi’s not the main character, but he’s one of the main characters.
• Standard Mario Golf game, but developed by Camelot, so it’s gonna be great. 
• Coming this summer in the US and UK.

NSMBU:

• DLC for the game, with completely new levels, only starring Luigi. This will be called “New Super Luigi U”.
• Coming sometime this year.

Miiverse news:

• There was no Zelda Miiverse community, so an open, not-game-specific Zelda community so people can get hype for the next two Zelda games.

Fire Emblem:

• Bill Trenen is here to tell you to buy the Fire Emblem DLC packs. I agree, in three weeks it’ll be bumped up to 6$ instead of 4$.
• New packs of DLC, all about gold. It’s all about LOOOOADSAMONEY. Priced the same as the last DLC pack.
• “You may receive a special swapnote from someone close to the game, Fire Emblem” I LOOKED OVER AT MY 3DS…I’M WAITING, BILL.
• Fire Emblem is out now in the US and will be releasing on April 19th in the UK with the 3DS XL bundle the US got previously.

Animal Crossing:

• RELEASE DATE HERE: JUNE 9TH IN THE US AND JUNE 14TH IN THE UK. That’s pretty close to E3….maybe trying to keep you busy during Sony/Microsoft’s conferences?
• Your loan is smaller in this game, since you’re the mayor in this game. Politics makes us all corrupt.
• There’s a street of “model homes” called the Happy Home Showcase that has everyone you’ve spotpassed with.
• Special feature only for North Americans, unconfirmed what it is.

Style Savvy Trendsetters:

• If you for some reason give a crap, Animal Crossing clothes are coming to this game. I had no idea it was out. Give it to me as a Valentine’s gift. It’s what Iwata would want.

Lego City:

• “I could go on and on about Lego City” please Bill, do.
• There will be a 3DS prequel called “The Chase Begins”. It’s set in the same world, but takes place two years earlier.
• The Wii U game is dropping March 18th in the US and March 28th in the UK. The 3DS game will come out April 21st.

Ninja Gaiden:

• Free DLC coming. Costumes for each character. You’ll see more nudity from the females. How awful.

Wii U Google Streetview:

• Available now, the gamepad can be moved to move the Google camera and lets you see 360 degrees around the area you looked up.
• Will be for free, but only for a limited time.

HarmoKnight:

• Your actions cause the music timing. There’s over fifty stages, including Pokemon centric ones.
• Releasing March 28th, with a demo on the 14th. UK is getting it sometime in March.

Kersploosh (US)/Splash and Crash (UK):

• Play as a stone. Dodge obstacles, don’t get crushed.
• Launching March 7th in US and 28th of February in the UK.

Mario and Donkey Kong:

• Coming soon.
• Not the same Mario vs Donkey Kong game, many different puzzles.

Dillon’s Rolling Western: The Last Ranger:

• Similar gameplay to the last, action game/tower defense.
• You can recruit new heroes to help you.
• You must also now protect a train in each level.
• Available April 11 in the US, unknown when it’ll come out in UK.

Project X Zone:

• Announced for Europe in the Summer, US Summer as well.

Etrian Odyssey IV:

• Releasing in the UK Spring this year.

New Virtual Console Games:

• Harvest Moon GBC and Legend of the River King “coming soon”.

Need for Speed Most Wanted U:

• Coming March 19th US, March 21st UK.
• Fully featured exclusive NfS game, “the definitive version of the title”.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate:

• Launching on Wii U and 3DS simultaneously on March 19th in the US and March 22nd UK
• You can transfer progress between both versions of the game.
• The Circle Pad will be coming to the UK for this game.
• There will also be bundles with the Wii U and 3DS with these games.
• Demo on both platforms on Feb 21st.

Toki Tori 2:

• Coming soon.
• Has a level editor.
• Will support off screen play.

The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct

• Releases March 26th US, March 29th UK.

Injustice: Gods Among Us:

• April 16th US, April 19th UK.
• There will be a “Quick Moves list” on the gamepad. Hoo boy.
• Runs at 60 fps and will have all the DLC.

Disney Infinity:

• Will launch on Wii U in June in US, no outside area announcements made.
• Original playset will include Sully, Capt. Jack, and Mr. Incredible.

Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D:

• Remake of the Retro developed platformer. Coming this summer.
• THAT GAME CAME OUT WHAT, TWO YEARS AGO? JESUS CHRIST NINTENDO.
