Team Bondi’s Next Game is Next-Gen

Team Bondi, the  team behind the underrated L.A. Noire, has revealed information on their next title. The studio was closed down after complications the team had with Rockstar during and after the development of L.A. Noire. Any hopes of the studio having any future were not there, but they have been reborn after a buyout. They have been acquired by Kennedy Miller Mitchell.

Their next game, Whore of The Orient will be developed for PC and Next Generation consoles. Taking place in Shanghai in 1936, Brendan McNmara has previously stated their game will be ”one of the great untold stories of the 20th Century.” The developer’s website has text containing the following:

“Shanghai, 1936. Whore of the Orient. Paris of the East. The most corrupt and decadent city on the planet, where anything can be had or done for the right price. Plaything of Western powers who greedily exploit the Chinese masses. Boiling pot of Chinese nationalism, with the Kuomintang ruthlessly trying to suppress Communism and the labour movement. Home to the International Police Force, a group of Western cops hopelessly trying to keep the lid on and keep the peace.”

Being published by Warner Bros., the project is in need of several programmers, animators, artists, and designers, which Team Bondi is actively recruiting for. That is all the information revealed about the game thus far. It sounds as though it is probably still in early concept stages or development is very early on. Don’t expect anything for several years.
