Supergiant Games unveils Transistor

Published On March 19, 2013 | By Mike Cosimano | News

Not a mere two years ago, Supergiant Games burst onto the indie scene with their acclaimed isometric action game Bastion. The art style, the soundtrack, and the sweet voice of the game’s narrator were all fantastic. It looks like at least two of those aspects – maybe even all three – have made it into Supergiant’s newest project: Transistor. And that’s fine by me.

I’m not as excited for this game as I feel I should be, possibly since I squeezed all the juice out of the Bastion orange a long time ago, but I’m still looking forward to Transistor. Whether you agree with me or not, it’s clear Supergiant Games has a lot riding on this project. One fantastic game might be a fluke. Two stellar releases is closer to a pattern. We don’t have a solid release date yet (the reveal trailer cites ’2014′), but I’d be surprised if it doesn’t launch on downloadable platforms and maybe mobile devices for $15. You can check out the reveal trailer below if you need some damn good cyberpunk art right now.
