Fire up your Vitas, ladies and gentlemen, for Street Fighter x Tekken will be arriving in Europe on October 19, 2012 for the PlayStation Vita. The North American release is set for October 23, 2012 and the Japan release for October 25, 2012.

This popular fighter will feature 55 playable characters, including the 38 original roster from the console game, five PlayStation 3 exclusives (Mega Man, Pac-Man, Cole, Kuro, and Toro) and 12 Vita-release new characters as DLC.

The new fighters have been confirmed as the following: Blanka, Cody, Dudley, Elena, Guy and Sakura from Street Fighter and Alisa, Bryan, Christie, Jack-X, Lars and Lei from Tekken. Aside from the updated roster, many other features have been added to the Vita release. You will be able to do Cross-Platform play with your PlayStation 3 and have the opportunity to duke it out with nearby players with the Adhoc Fight Request system. Not only will friends be able to play locally who also have Vitas, but replay videos could be switched as well as other customized media.

For more fun additions to the Vita release, here is Capcom’s press release:

· Augmented Reality: Pose and take pictures of your favourite characters, and then place them in real life photos.

· Front and Rear Touch Panels: Create the size and positioning of extra buttons on the front and rear touch panels, and customise these with different moves. Also, menus now work with the touch screen.

· Near: Customise the costumes of your characters, and share them with other Vita owners that pass by. Collect other players’ custom costumes.

· KO Monument: Collect trophies from the players you beat and build the ultimate KO monument.

So strap on your headbands and roll up those sleeves, because Street Fighter x Tekken for the PlayStation Vita will be walking the streets, looking for a fight!
