[UPDATED] Steam is Coming to an iOS or Android Device Near You
UPDATE: The Steam app is out of beta and available to all. Go download now!
While I was late to the PC gaming scene, being late led me to the awesomeness that is Steam. There are always sales going on to get you to buy a game you might not be interested in, but for $5, if you sort of like it, it’s money well spent. The big issue with the sales is that they are timed sales and a PC gamer like myself isn’t always near a computer. But hey, I do have an iPhone so why not check on sales through there? Needless to say, checking Steam through your phone is a pain in the ass no matter what phone you have. Have no fear, though, Valve has created a Steam application for both the iOS and Android markets so you can launch Steam fast and not have to navigate the actual web page!
The app is in a closed beta right now, but as soon as you log into your Steam account from the app, you’ll be in line to receive an invitation to it. It doesn’t say when the app will be out of beta but it will be worth the wait if you don’t get an invite. You’ll be able to chat with friends, look at the store and buy games, view community groups, news, and videos. So go ahead and download the app off of your respective app stores and sign into your Steam account right away, you might get a sneak peek at one of my soon-to-be favorite apps!
