Steam Gifts, Yes Please!

So a few weeks ago I discovered this awesome site called Steam Gifts. Basically it’s a site that has a ton of game giveaways that gamers, developers or other sites contribute to the site for the community to win.

If you’d like to join you first have to have a Steam account and they require you to have at least $100 in games tied to the account. That helps prevent  fake accounts from taking the games and re-gifting them on another account. If you win a game you have to redeem it on the Steam account you won it on. You can not trade it to anybody else or offer it up as a giveaway later because you can be banned.

You use points, that are earned by people creating giveaways, to enter the giveaways. The point cost is based on what the game costs on Steam. So if the game is $60, you will need 60 points to enter. There will also be giveaways that require you to have contributed a certain dollar amount that is set by the creator. These will give you an even better chance at winning. Some giveaways will have over 4,000+ entries and make your chances at winning slim. So I highly recommend contributing when and if you can. The community is awesome and has many other ways to win games too. So don’t think twice and head over there now.

I have been a longtime gamer for about 30 years now. I started out playing the likes of Asteroids and Combat on the Atari 2600. Actually still have it with original box too. I use to play on the 360 moved over to the PS3 and have never looked back. I recently got into PC gaming and love me some indie games. Now I'm trying my hand at video game journalism and time travel.
