Star Wars: The Old republic Hits 1.7 Million Subscribers
Since the games launch in December 2011 , over two million copies of Star Wars: The Old Republichave been sold with over 1.7 million subscribed players.
The LA Times previously reported that the game cost $200 million U.S. dollars to create. The amount of people involved in the games production, included almost 1,000 voice actors for over 4,000 in game characters as well as thousands of Bioware’s artists, designers, producers, story writers, and motion capture employees. With the current number of subscribers, it’s safe to say SWTOR is doing just fine. The numbers already surpass the number World of Warcraftcopies sold in 2004, but as of yet, the WoW expansion, Cataclysm, sold 3.3 million copies within 24 hours.
Still, SWTOR stands as one of the fastest growing MMOs to date. If these stats haven’t convinced you to try the game out, check out our full review.
