Sim City Beta Announced

Published On January 19, 2013 | By Ryan Archer | News, PC, Platforms

Publishing giant EA recently announced that a beta for the upcoming city building game, Sim City, would begin on January 25th and end on the 28th. However whilst the term “beta” is being used by Lucy Bradshaw, General Manager and Senior Vice President of EA’s Maxis label, you would be better off classing this as a timed demo. The “beta” will allow users to play a one hour section of the game, however you are allowed to replay that slice multiple times.

“It is always an exciting moment to share a game that is still in development with its biggest fans prior to launch. This beta will help the team improve the live service aspects of SimCity to ensure a smooth and user-friendly experience at launch. I want to thank everyone for signing up – we are excited to share one of our most beloved franchises with our fans.” – Lucy Bradshaw.

Users are free to sign up for the beta right now over at Simcity.com and have until 2am (GMT) January 21st to do so.

Sim City is currently slated for a March 5th release.
