Say “Bye Bye” to Mega Man and Pac-Man

With the release of Street Fighter X Tekken for the PlayStation 3, I’m sure we were all thinking the same thing: “what the hell happened to Mega Man?!” Surely, we thought that Capcom was trolling us when putting a much older and…wider Mega Man in their new crossover game. Perhaps it was to silence the haters who were displeased as to why he did not make the roster in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. In a way, Capcom seemed to say “you want Mega Man? Oh, we’ll give you Mega Man.” And they did… They gave him to us hard.

From the announcement trailer of Mega Man and Pac-Man to the release of the game, there has been no shortage of scrutiny towards Capcom over their decision. At a later date, DLC costumes were made available for UMVC3, including one for Frank West sporting an oddly familiar outfit and one for Zero, which blatantly shows that you could still have Mega Man…just not Mega Man. While these costumes eased the minds of some fans, it did not please everyone and the Mega Man presented to us in Street Fighter x Tekken for the PlayStation 3 was hardly a fair trade.

Well, those who plan on getting Street Fighter x Tekken for the Xbox 360 need not worry about this DLC duo. It has been announced that Mega Man and Pac-Man will not be available for the Xbox 360 version. There was never a plan to put these characters in the 360 version; that they were going to remain exclusive to the PlayStation 3. ‘Tis a shame that players of strictly Xbox will not have the ability to play these two iconic characters on their system. Not only that, but there will be no exclusive characters available for the Xbox 360 version at this time. Maybe another time, Master Chief.
