Rumor: Sony’s Next System Called ‘Orbis’

According to Kotaku, an inside source has revealed new information on Sony’s next-generation console, which could be named “Orbis.”

Though it is believed to be a working-title, the symbolism of the name (orbis means “orbit” or “circle” in Latin) suggests that it could, in fact, be the actual name of the console. It is unknown as to whether or not the “PlayStation” trademark will be attached, but it seem Sony may be looking at a 2013 holiday launch window. Read the article on Kotaku here for more info.

The announcement of a new Sony console is a much-anticipated one, but it may not happen for quite some time. The company promised that the next PlayStation wouldn’t make an appearance at E3, but they’ve surprised us before, and it certainly doesn’t mean there won’t be any word of it.
