Rumor: Assassin’s Creed 3 to be set during the Revolutionary War

Wouldn't this guy have made HBO's John Adams way more entertaining?

I don’t usually like posting rumors unless they come from a highly credible source, but this one just seems too real not to publish. A few hours ago, an anonymous Best Buy employee emailed Kotaku a picture of what may be Assassin’s Creed 3′s protagonist. The character stands in front of a Revolution-era American flag, carries a tomahawk, and is dressed in period armor. He’s also standing on a snowy rock with small flecks of snow flying by which, when combined with the snowy field image the series’ official Facebook page posted recently, lends a bit of credence to this whole thing in my opinion.

There’s a good chance we’ll know for sure on March 5th, when a big Assassin’s Creed announcement is supposed to hit. In the meantime, I should probably get back to finishing Revelations.
