Oh, Portal 2. How well-designed your puzzles were. How humorous your humour was. You deserve the 4 million sales you recently managed to achieve. And even better, you’re releasing an amazing level editor! You just keep amazing me. Wait, what’s that? It’s not coming to consoles? I thought what we had was special!!!

In case you couldn’t extrapolate it from my gushing above, Valve has announced that since it’s release a year ago, Portal 2 has sold 4 million units across all platforms. To celebrate, they’ve released the Perpetual Testing Initiative, a level editor that is available for PC and Mac users. It’s available as a free download right now on Steam, Valve’s digital distribution platform. Like with all level editors, only the most talented  users will be able to provide you with truly ingenious maps, though we have a feeling it will be worth the effort to find them.

If you haven’t played Portal 2 yet, it comes highly recommended by all of us here at Velocity Gamer. It’s available for the PC, Mac, Xbox 360, and PS3, though if you are interested in creating levels, then it seems that the Steam version is your best (and only) bet right now. Time will tell if this content will also come to consoles.
