No More ‘Resistance’ From Insomniac
Well, folks, it looks like the Resistance franchise is done, at least for Insomniac. Ted Price, CEO of Insomniac, recently stated that the company will no longer be making any more Resistance titles, nor will they be supporting it in the future. The studio is focusing it’s attention on a new four-player co-op title, Overstrike, officially revealed at E3 in 2011, as well as developing their new social media division, Insomniac Click.
Since the release of Resistance: Fall of Man in 2003, the franchise has seen two sequels and a companion title called Resistance: Retribution which was released for the PSP in 2009. Fans of the series still have the upcoming PS Vita title, Resistance: Burning Skies to look forward to, but beyond that, the future of the franchise seems unknown.
Will the franchise be picked up be a different studio? Or has mankind truly quelled the Chimera invasion?
