On February 17th (my birthday!), gamers in North America will be able to score themselves a pretty sweet deal. If you’ve been waiting for a slightly more compelling reason to buy the Wii U, look no further than Nintendo’s limited ZombiU bundle. Inside, you get a Deluxe Wii U, a boxed copy of ZombiU, a Pro Controller, a downloadable copy of NintendoLand, and that kind of confusing Digital Deluxe Promotion thing. The bundle will also include some ZombiU-themed goodies, like an art book and “developer commentary”. Should all those goodies in one place interest you, retail price will be $389.99; a mere $40 more than buying the Deluxe Set by itself.
If I didn’t own a Wii U already, you can bet I’d be all over this. ZombiU got a surprising amount of praise (I still have yet to even open my copy, so I can’t personally speak to its quality), and I quite like the Wii U so far. This won’t be like the DS, Nintendo just doesn’t have enough leeway to drop revised hardware anywhere close to launch. When they do, it’ll probably be much farther into the system’s life cycle. An improved Wii U is a long ways off, so unless you’re waiting for the holiday bundles, this might just be your best option for the time being.
