Nexuiz is Available on PC Today

Remember that game Nexuiz? It was a PC shooter for the longest time and it just got a reboot on the Xbox 360 not too long ago. I wrote a review on it, take a gander if you need me to refresh your memory. The short and sweet review is that it was OK, but it may have gotten a little better today with the release that reboot on the PC.

The arena shooter got a PC version today that I’m sure will be infinitely better than the console version. The improvements include enhanced CryEngine 3 graphics with DX11, dedicated servers with a server browser,  new custom controls including a new HUD, and 20% increase to player speed.

Biggest gripe with the XBLA version: 3v3 matches

What irked me most about the XBLA version of Nexuiz was that there was a lot of potential for a game like that; the platform was a bad fit and really limited what you devs could do. In the PC version, matches are 4v4 but if you want to hone your skills, the bot matches from the 360 version is still here. That’s probably the most fun I had from Nexuiz but I may give the PC version a shot just to see if the matches themselves are fun.

If you’re interested, grab the game for $9.99 on Steam or find out more about the game at the community forums HERE
