New Borderlands 2 Info. with New Interview/Gameplay
Borderlands 2 is the biggest video game tease for me right now. Everything I’ve seen thus far, including the new footage released today looks fantastic but I can’t help but think about original and it’s repetitiveness. Visually, Borderlands 2 is amazing and the game play looks just as fresh as the original Borderlands looked. I want to fall in love with Borderlands 2 just as I did with the first, and by the looks of it, I think I just might.
Explained in the video is the mission structure in this game compared to the first. Borderlands 1 missions were basically “Do this, turn it in”, the story took a backseat and you wre basically just doing the same quests over and over again. In this game, we’ll get a campaign feel much like you would in any other RPG out there now, mixed with great FPS combat. Another thing that’s detailed are the guns. There were tons of guns in Borderlands 1 but you eventually got to a point where you’d see the same gun model and the gun just had different effects. Guns in this game look more detailed, varied, and colorful to ensure you won’t pick up the same game twice.
There are 4 new playable characters in this game with promise of seeing the heroes from the last game during your travels. One of the new characters, an upgraded siren from the first game: Maya, sports a nasty phase lock ability. This ability will allow the player to lock an AI in a force-field to trap them as well as heal other players or revive them if the ability gets upgraded. The soldier, Axton, can deploy a turret that is even more up-gradable than Roland’s in the first game. The Assassin, Zero, can turn invisible to sneak up on enemies and the Gunzerker class can wield two heavy weapons at once.
Really looking forward to getting my hands on this; September 18th can’t come soon enough. Everything that I would of wanted in a Borderlands sequel looks like it’ll come true. Hopefully I’ll fall in love with Borderlands all over again. Stay tuned to VelocityGamer and OnlySP for more Borderlands 2 news!
