More Battlefield talk coming from DICE and EA

This was found by some crafty BF3 fans when playing on the Wake Island map. Could this mean the return of futuristic Battlefield?

For those of you who are waiting on some more post-release support for Battlefield 3, but was disappointed by the lack of an announcement at EA’s most recent press event, I have good news for you. Ian Tornay, a Community Manager for DICE, reassured fans that “We definitely have something coming – stay tuned.” Whether it’s some more map packs (likely), weapons (also likely), or some DLC campaign stuff (not a chance in hell) has yet to be determined.

Between Medal of Honor, the long-awaited Mass Effect 3, and several other big-name releases from the publisher, it’s certainly going to be a busy year for EA. But EA hasn’t forgotten Battlefield 3, or the Battlefield franchise in general. Specifically, Tornay mentioned the possibility of a Battlefield 2142 sequel, hinted at in the image to the left in one of BF3′s Back to Karkand maps. “There is a lot of enthusiasm inside DICE for 2143 – they love it as much as you guys do, too,” he said, “Is it more likely than anything else that’s been suggested? Not as far as I know. So, not a yes, not a no.” Either way, stay tuned for whatever EA and DICE have in store for this much-loved multiplayer shooter!
