Ever wanted a Kinect for your Xbox 360? Most hardcore gamers will say no but there are some games i.e. Mass Effect 3 or Ghost Recon: Future Soldier that the technology does work well with. The technology behind Kinect is amazing but it does have it’s quirks which makes the $149.99 price point a little hard to swallow if low on gaming cash.
Good news, though, Microsoft has slashed the price by almost a third of the original. Whether this is do to poor sales or not is unclear but last time I checked, Kinect was doing well for Microsoft so I’m not sure. Here is a statement from Larry Hyrb, Xbox LIVE’s Major Nelson:
Today we are announcing a new price for Kinect. The new permanently reduced price will be US $109.99 in US. There will be also a permanently reduced price in North America, Latin America and Asia Pacific regions where Kinect is sold. Additionally, on October 4, the Kinect sensor will be available for a permanently reduced price in Australia and New Zealand.
For about the price of two new games, you can grab yourself a Kinect. For the scanning technology and voice recognition software included, on a technical level, it’s a steal. If you still don’t think you’d have a use for it then the price cut isn’t enough to make you go out and buy one but it’ll be something to think about.

So far, the best use of Kinect in games are dancing games. I can't wait until Dance Central 3
It looks like a blast. The whole Dance Central Intelligence and dancing through the decades sounds awesome. I might have to pick up a Kinect for those games.
