A free DLC pack that will provide “further clarity to the ending of Mass Effect 3″ is expected to be released this summer, according to an Electronic Arts press release.

The DLC, called Extended Cut, will expand on the ending through “additional cinematic sequences and epilogue scenes,” and will be available for download on Xbox Live, Playstation Network, and the PC platform through what will likely be EA’s Origin service.

This DLC pack comes in the wake of a massive fan outcry in regards to Mass Effect 3′s ending, and Executive Producer Casey Hudson acknowledges that the development team “reprioritized our post-launch development efforts to provide the fans who want more closure with even more context and clarity to the ending of the game.”
