Make Your Own Movies with the Source Filmmaker from Valve

Valve is no doubt one of the greatest when it comes to video game development. Valve also earns itself atop the list of best devs for what they do for their fans. With games like Half-Life, Left 4 Dead, Portal, and Team Fortress 2, Valve has consistently listened to their fan base and came up with content catered to feedback above anything else.

Another awesome thing that Valve does often is release free stuff. Team Fortress 2 went free-to-play not long ago and ever since, there’s been more updates than ever it seems.

Ever wanted to make this? Now you can!

One of the great things that they’ve been releasing for the game has been the “Meet the Team” features that showcase new updates coming to the game.

Have you ever wondered how they made those? Well, you’ll find out with the Source Filmmaker tool. This is a movie making program, of course, that will allow you to record game play, add animations, and aids to cinematography to create unique movies or posters. Check it out:

This is what the developers at Valve used to make over 50 videos that span across their different games. The beta is going on now, so head over to the Source Filmmaker website today to sign up if you want to start making movies!

The beta will end sometime later this year, so expect it to be available to everyone sometime at the end of this year.
