If you Reserve Black Ops 2 at GameStop, Get Pre-Order Goodies

I wonder how much of a showing there is, after last night, for pre-orders for Treyarch’s Black Ops 2. Most retailers that sell games offer exclusive offers in exchange for you giving them some of your money for reservation of your game of choice. If you’re going to buy the game right away, pre-ordering isn’t a bad deal at all and if they throw free swag at you, too, that just sweetens the pot.

Game Informer got news today that GameStop will be doing just that with Black Ops 2. I’ve pre-ordered all the Modern Warfare games and I got a poster with MW2 and MW3. It looks like the same will happen in Black Ops 2‘s case but there will also be some additional bonuses for those that own MW3. The post goes on to say that a prestige token in MW3 will be unlocked instantly after reserving Black Ops 2 before June 30th. Getting closer to release, more pre-order bonuses will be added and you’ll be able to access those depending on what time you pre-ordered the game.

Harper wants your pre-order. He has a prestige token and a poster to sweeten the deal

What’s also interesting is that that token is apparently only redeemable if you have a PowerUpRewards Pro membership. I think that’s pretty cool for those of us that subscribe to one, especially since the membership pays for itself if you shop there often. The idea is cool and right now it only looks like you’ll be getting screwed out of a prestige token if not a member, but you’ll still get a poster! Given the setting and the art shown so far, that poster could be badass.

Stay tuned to Velocity Gamer for more on Black Ops 2 pre-order bonuses! Oh, and go pre-order the game if you haven’t already to get a poster, you can always take the pre-rder bonus off at a later date if you decide not to give Activsion any more money; you’ll still have that poster!
