If You Pre-order Black Ops II, You May Get to Play Nuketown… in the Future

The original Black Ops was probably my worst multiplayer performance in a Call of Duty game to date. I did well at first thanks to me picking up the game on launch day, but my skill faded quick. One of my worst maps had to be Nuketown, but man was it fun.

That map was small, small enough to throw a tomahawk to the other side and hit somebody. The asymmetrical layout paired with the size made it a map to just mess around in and have a ton of fun doing it. Sure enough, it became a fan favorite and it looks like Treyarch knows it.

Thanks to an image by an IGN user, we get a glimpse at what could be a huge pre-order incentive for Black Ops 2, a chance to play Nuketown.

This version of the map will be be set in 2025, but I doubt Treyarch will change the layout other than just make it look futuristic.

We’re not sure where this pre-order bonus will be offered here in the US, but we hope it’s a universal bonus for pre-ordering.

You may want to inquire about this on your next trip to your local electronics/game retailer. Black Ops 2 releases on November 13th.

UPDATE:

Activision has now confirmed that Nuketown 2025, the new name of the re-imagined map, is a pre-order bonus that will be coming to most retailers worldwide and to all platforms, even PC if pre-ordered through steam.

Activison went on the record stating that Nuketown 2025 is not on disc and will need to be downloaded when Black Ops II is released on November 13th. The level is described as a “re-imagined in a 60s depiction of the ‘Model Home of the Future.’”

Nuketown 24/7 anyone? I hope so!
