Halo 4 Composer is Great at what he does
343 Industries is the developer behind the long-waited return to Master Chief’s story in Halo 4. Bungie is absent from the picture and with that, Martin O’ Donnell, the original Halo composer, won’t be there to help with the musical score. The iconic monk chants that give Halo instant recognition among fans are going away, introducing something new and current with today’s most popular movie scores.
In a new video posted today, 343 Industries introduces it’s new composer, Neil Davidge. Neil has worked on several huge films including Inception, Iron Man, Push, and The Dark Knight. Coming from those films, I think this guy knows what he’s doing and that he’s pretty darn good at it, too. Halo has some of the best music in a video game today; the scope of the world you’re in, what’s at stake really resonates with me. Here are a couple of samples put up by 343 through Halo Waypoint:
And here is a video of composing worlds in Halo 4. Enjoy!
