Halo 4 Spartan Ops Details Leaked
Thanks to a leaked slideshow directed towards retailers, we now have more details regarding Halo 4′s Spartan Ops mode. The slideshow boasts that it will be like getting a second campaign for free, promising up to 12 hours of gameplay. It’s going to be a cinematic multiplayer mode wherein objectives are told through a high quality cutscene and will feature a total of 50 missions, with five being released weekly for ten weeks.
One of the more interesting facts is the first 50 episodes are referred to as season 1 and will all be free. After all of the recent DLC debacles, I applaud Microsoft and 343 Industries for doing this. While future episodes/seasons may come at an additional cost, no details were forthcoming about content or price.
I love the idea of Spartan Ops, but from the videos I have seen and what was leaked, it seems that the only cutscene will be in the beginning of each mission that debriefs you. I was, and am still personally, holding out hope for something like Killzone 3’s Operation game mode where there were cutscenes before, during and after the mission.
I still commend the decision of free content and for what could be an exciting game mode that can help expand the Halo lore without having to wait for each game in the series.
