Halo 4 Multiplayer Explained… a Bit More

Published On May 16, 2012 | By Matthew Pettit | Uncategorized

We don’t know all that there is to know about Halo 4‘s new multiplayer, other than it will be more Halo multiplayer. The Game Informer magazine with the cover on the game did provide some details including Spartan Ops, an episodic co-op mode. We even got to see some of the multiplayer in a behind-the-scenes video at 343 and on an episode of Conan O’ Brian.

Well now we can get an idea of where 343 is going with this in new details revealed today. Multiplayer will take place on a UNSC ship aptly named Infinity. You might of already knew that but maybe not the reason. 343 wanted to create an environment where leveling up your Spartan with new gear and such would make sense while still fitting into the Halo universe.

"Ah c'mon man, it's just a game!"

But wait, there’s more! War Games will be what matches are called in multiplayer. 343 promises deeper game modes with new strategies. As we near launch, more will be clear on what modes there are to play. My money is on E3 for more on that.

Perks will also invade Halo 4′s multiplayer in the form of Specializations. These will function pretty much as you think they would along with new armor modofication enhancements. These enhancements will probably be most like a weapon proficiency in MW3, in this case, for your armor if I had to guess. We won’t know until we see it in action which I would, again, expect to see at E3.
