Get a look at Spec Ops: The Line Multiplayer in New Trailer

Spec Ops: The Line is fast becoming one of my most wanted games this year. The June 26th release date in between the summer lull and should keep me tied over until the rest of the heavy hitters come out in the fall. 2K’s livestream at PAX East gave Spec Ops quite a bit of coverage, including demos and interviews.

I first heard about Spec Ops: The Line through interviews with Greg Kasavin, known for his work with Supergiantgames’ Bastion last year. This was back in 2010 where there was also a closed multiplayer beta available towards the end of the year, invitation only. I was lucky enough to participate and became intrigued even more as the main story line was tied to the multiplayer. The Exiles fight The Damned; The Damned being the men that allied with the Colonel you’re team is trying to rescue in the single player. The Exiles are the survivors of the sandstorms that hit Dubai. Watch the trailer below for some context:

Low visibility, tread carefully

When they say that the sandstorms are a game changer, I can tell you that they’re not just making that sound good. From the beta, the sandstorm decreases visibility to the point of you running into someone or moving past them without you being aware of each other.

I’m excited to get my hands on the finished multiplayer as I’ve already seen quite a few changes since the multiplayer beta in the trailer above. Spec Ops: The Line drops on June 26th for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. Will you be picking it up?
