Gamescom: Black Ops 2 Multiplayer Madness and MW3 Double XP Inbound

Black Ops 2 has made quite a stir this week with the unveiling of it’s Multiplayer. A trailer is a great thing to sell a game by cutting great parts of a game together to show the best that product has to offer. On the other hand, trailers also tease us, almost torture, to make us want more. The short trailer we saw was long enough to make us drool but short enough to make us demand more.

Have no fear, Multiplayer cravings will satisfied at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany next week. Black Ops 2 will be there and new Multiplayer game play will be shown off and streamed LIVE online. The link has already been set up on the Xbox website.

To try and free up space for today’s stories at Velocity Gamer, I’m condensing this next news into this post as it should be said but I feel like I’m drowning you guys in Call of Duty news. In celebration of the new Chaos mode for Modern Warfare 3, there will be Double XP this weekend on ALL platforms.

As far as PC and PS3 players go, it’s almost like a “sorry you can’t play our new mode yet, but have some double XP”. Double Weapon XP is also coming later this month for all platforms. My guess is that this is a subtle effort to keep people playing this entry rather than wait for the next.
