E3 2012: Here Comes Your First Look At Project P-100, From Platinum Games In Conjunction With Nintendo

One thing we didn’t get to see at Nintendo’s E3 press conference is a game in the works from developer Platinum Games partnered with Nintendo – Project P-100 (working title for now) is a ”mass-hero action” title heading straight to the Wii U, involving the whole jazz of superheroes, giant robots and the saving Earth complex that all heroes seem to have. No, don’t close this tab just yet – we have a released gameplay footage trailer of it, right here. And it looks good.

Basically, the outline of Project P-100 seems to be that Earth is under attack from swarms of aliens, and what you need to do is trot around each stage while making good use of the abilties of flocking helpless citizens around you. The more people you get under you, the greater your ‘Special Morph Powers’ become. The trailer below shows a bunch of people merging and being used as a hefty blade to slash down enemies, a humongous robo-hand and a somewhat useful ladder. In short, it’s somewhat like Pikmin – but more urban.

But enough talking; watch the trailer for yourself. And yes, it is awesome.
