E3 2012: “Assassin’s Creed III Looks Gorgeous on Wii U”, Says Ubisoft’s Creative Director
In a recent Nintendo All-Access Developer interview, Alex Hutchinson didn’t hold back to gush on the lush beauty of Assassin’s Creed III’s visuals on the Wii U. “Assassin’s Creed III looks gorgeous on the Wii U in HD,” the creative director of Ubisoft Montreal told us. Hutchinson even went on to discuss two features available on the Wii U title he seemed quite happy about, thanks to the innovation of the GamePad – a handy map that is ever-present on the controller’s screen and quick weapon-selection switches with the use of the touch-screen:
“It’s by far the biggest of the Assassin’s Creed games we’ve built to date, so having a map, a larger map at your disposal at all times [on the GamePad] is a big win,” he explained. “It’s something that allows you to plan your navigation. See when enemies are near by. So the bigger the map, the better.”
He continued with:
“During combat on the Wii U you always have access to all your other tools or weapons on the controller itself, so at any point you can very easily switch between say your tomahawk and knife, to your hidden blade and sword without having to go into a menu.”
Hutchinson finished his statement by confirming the title’s availability at the Nintendo console’s launch. As for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, the title will be out on the 31st October this year.
