Confused by Cross-Buy? Here’s a quick guide!

Published On February 6, 2013 | By Mike Cosimano | News, PS Vita, PS3

When I picked up Sly Cooper 4 yesterday for review purposes, I was not only excited by the prospect of playing a brand new Sly Cooper, but also getting a free PlayStation Vita copy of the game. Unfortunately, redeeming said copy and saving to the cloud was an enormous pain in the chungus. I’ve put together this quick guide for people who are equally confused.

How to Unlock Your Free Vita Copy

When you first hit the XMB, scroll over to the ‘Game’ tab. You’ll see three disc options; the actual game, the digital manual, and “Disc Benefits”. Simply click on that last one. It’ll walk you through the redemption process, which allows you to download the game to your Vita.

How to Upload/Download Saves to/from the Cloud

This has to be done in-game. While you’re exploring any of the hub worlds, select the ‘Cross-Save’ option. There will be a sub-menu with ‘Upload to the Cloud’ and ‘Download from the Cloud’. Pick the one you want, and you should be able to either upload the save you’ve loaded, or download the most recent save to whichever hardware you’re using at the moment.

And that should do it! Hope you guys are enjoying the game, we should have a full review next week. Maybe this week if I really grind through it, but no promises!
