Capcom USA’s “Associate Online/Community Specialist”, Yuri L. Araujo, has confirmed that Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on the Wii U will not allow gamers to play with their friends from another region. He states that he is not happy with the region locking and that he would pass on the bad reception that the news has garnered, although he also added that it probably won’t change.

“Hi all, I’m not thrilled with the servers being split either… I am definitely aware of the demand and feedback, not only in this thread, but also from threads before finding out these bad news; so be sure that I will pass it along. There is no guarantee this will change though. =/” - Yuri L. Araujo

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is due out in Europe on March 22nd for Wii U and 3DS and in North America on March 19th.
