PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale continually pumps out new features by the day. First, we were introduced to the wide array of characters that is to come, including Nathan Drake, Sly Cooper, Sweet Tooth, and Fat Princess. Then, we were given the opportunity to be a beta tester for the game in the fall. Sony is allowing the public to be the tester for one of their games, one that is seemingly made to be for the gaming masses. And now…it will even have something for the lovers of arcade sticks. Arcade sticks aren’t just for 2D fighting games anymore. SuperBot Entertainment has announced on their Facebook page that PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale “will include controller configuration support for all popular arcade stick peripherals!” See the specific details below:

By default, nearly all DualShock 3 controller commands are assigned to the same buttons on an arcade stick. The joystick takes care of the character’s movement and combines with the Square, Triangle, and Circle buttons to perform the full range of 24 unique attacks. In fact, joystick inputs behave exactly the same as DualShock 3 D-pad inputs would, so arcade stick functionality is natively supported in PlayStation All-Stars. The only exception is the throw command, which uses the Right Stick on the DualShock controller. With an arcade stick, throws are simply performed with an easy button combination, similar to many traditional fighting games.

It just goes to show that this game is trying to streamline itself into having a little something for everyone. Like the feel of Super Smash? We gotcha covered. Curious to see how the characters in the PlayStation universe would fare in a battle against each other? You got it! Want to use an arcade stick, just because you can? Sure, why not?!
