While it might be a slow news day in gaming, the mobile and computing tech world is abuzz with Apple’s WWDC 2012 conference. One of the more interesting showings was Apple’s new version of the MacBook Pro 15-inch.

With it, we see use of Apple’s 2880 x 1880 Retina Display resolution. They say that the Pro will be able to use this resolution for up to 7 hours of battery life, which is decently impressive.Apple’s also promising that many apps will already be tailored to this new resolution when the Pro hits stores, and third-party programs like Diablo were shown to work with the new resolution.

On top of that, the MacBook Pro will be seeing upgrades in the rest of its hardware, with newer i5 and i7 processors, with the base-price model running a 2.3GHz i7 quad-core. The base model also features 8 gigs of ram, a 256gb SSD, and a GeForce GT 650m 1gb video card. The only problem? The base model is set to start at $2199.

So what do you guys think? Is this mid-level hardware condensed into a sleek and sexy design worth $2199?
