If you want to play Left 4 Dead without the zombies and some robbery added to the mix, pick up PAYDAY: The Heist. The developers definitely wanted to make sure that everyone can try out their product, giving it yet another free weekend and the obligatory weekend sale with it.
What could make it worth such a move? Looks like a) a free weekend draws in a serious amount of sales and b) you can never have enough money. It’s yet another publicity stunt by Overkill Software, who have already remade Mercy Hospital from L4D2 in an attempt to grab some extra attention.
And man oh man do you need attention when your co-op shooter ships with six maps total on release.
The game is 75% off as of the time of writing this, so if your friends kept bugging you with this game that provides an interesting but definitely lacking experience, you can still get it on the cheap. I wish I could say it was a steal.
