THE FINAL HOURS

Velocity Gamer is what many people would call a ‘small’ gaming site. We don’t rake in a whole lot of cash, and review copies don’t come in when we need them. Although we have a fairly sizable dedicated reader base (you guys!) that comes to us for quality video game news, reviews, and editorials, the ‘reviews’ part needs help.

Our editors just can’t afford all the games we need to review. We also would like to put games in the hands of editors so they can be informed come Game of the Year time. But our primary concern is having the money to buy games on launch day. That’s where this campaign comes in.

How This Works:

Here’s how we’ll use the money we get from the campaign.

Editors will be assigned games by the Editor-In-Chief, unless they feel they’re a very strong fit for the game. They will go out, buy the game, and review it as soon as possible. Only when said review is completed will they be reimbursed for their purchase.

If we reach our goal of $600, then after we have at least one of every game in the Big Six lined up, the excess money will go towards getting a second copy of that game, so our editors know what they’re talking about when it comes time to hand out Game of the Year Awards.

This is what we need to review in order to be competitive.

• Assassin’s Creed 3
• Hitman: Absolution
• Call of Duty: Black Ops 2
• Far Cry 3
• Halo 4

Any excess money will go towards reviewing Pokemon Black and White 2, Skylanders: Giants, Medal of Honor: Warfighter, Epic Mickey 2, and PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale. We’d also like to catch up on some of the games we missed, just in case there are any games we’d like to recognize at the end of the year.
