2K Games Streaming LIVE at PAX East
2K games has some great games under their belt: Civilization, Bioshock, and Borderlands are probably my favorites. It just so happens that 2K will be in Boston for PAX East on April 6-8. I’m not able to go to PAX East but I can still get in on some of the magic of PAX from the comfort of my own home. Why? Because 2K Games will be broadcasting LIVE from PAX on Twitch.tv.
Among the games being shown are two of my most anticipated games for this year: Borderlands 2 and Spec Ops: The Line.
Spec Ops: The Line, for those that don’t know, is a third-person shooter with a psychological twist. You play as a Delta Force team leader sent to Dubai in search of a lost infantry battalion that mysteriously resurfaced over radio communications. Through the game, players will fight morality and the madness waiting for them in the sand-storms of Dubai in pursuit of the lost battalion. There was a multiplayer beta that came out near the end of 2010 that gave little indication of what the game was going to be like, other than it wwas a third person shooter that took place in Dubai, but did give me a good picture of what the game looked like. Spec Ops looks like it came a long way since I played the beta so I’m hoping that the finished product will be spectacular.
Borderlands 2 is the sequel to the original Borderlands, of course, so it can only mean more guns, characters, vehicles, and hilarious gags, right? YES, and I can’t wait to soak up any information on it. I loved the original game, marrying the genre of an RPG with an FPS was brilliant. The execution was good, not great, but the four-player co-op kept me going, along with the fact that the minds at Gearbox know how to have a laugh.
