007 Legends is the Next James Bond Game
Today, we got word on the name of the next James Bond game and it will indeed be 007 Legends. It was speculated last week but now we know it’s true. But what exactly is Legends? What movie will it follow? Not much is clear on the game yet but some details, such as setting, have been shared, to an extent. If you’re a fan of the British double agent, you’d benefit from reading on, especially if you enjoyed Goldeneye: Reloaded.
Joystiq reported on Legends today. The game will feature six different bond story lines spanning classic films from the franchises start in the 60s up until now. How all of these films will roll into one game will be interesting. Maybe there are a lot of flashbacks, but there would have to be some context if they plastered Daniel Craig’s face on the Bond’s from all the decades, right? We do know that the latest Bond film, Skyfall, will be one of the films featured.
Eurocom, developers of Goldeneye: Reloaded, is developing Legends. Multiplayer will be present along with the MI-6 missions from Reloaded, playable in split screen and online. 007 Legends will ship this fall, most likely on all platforms. It might even come out around the time of Skyfall since that holds a November release date.
I haven’t tried Goldeneye: Reloaded, but I’ve heard mostly positive things about it. From what I’ve seen, though, I wouldn’t spend more than $30 on it since I don’t get the same vibe as I did with the original Goldeneye for the N64, one of my all-time favorites. I’ve seen all of the Bond films thanks to Spike TV’s marathons, so I may have to slap a pre-order down on this game once they announce the other films that will be featured in the game.
